Galco Industrial Electronics Acquires Lighting Supply Company

The world of lighting touches almost all areas of our lives. And like so many things, that world is evolving quickly. As part of that evolution, Galco Industrial Electronics, Inc. announced today its acquisition of and partnership with Lighting Supply Company.

Each company already has a substantial national presence online, and their union of expertise and resources will only build on what each company has to offer.

"This is a big win for our customers," said Lighting Supply's new president and CEO, Chris Hall. "We're already widely known for carrying both popular and hard-to-find lighting products. But this partnership will let us vastly increase the brands and types of products we provide. It will also let us expand our customer support by providing a more complete solution."

Lighting Supply , which has sold lighting products since 1983, traditionally focused on commercial and industrial lighting. But with the growth of LED technology, it began carrying more consumer products in recent years. Now it will offer far more to both markets as it seeks to become the source for everything lighting.

Galco, meanwhile, has sold an array of industrial and commercial electronic and controls products since 1975, along with offering field service, in-house repair, and engineering services. With more than one million products and a strong sales force, Galco helps tens of thousands of customers with complete solutions for their industrial electronics needs.

"This is an ideal acquisition and partnership for us," said Mike Conwell, CEO of Galco. "It brings with it so much lighting expertise and access to countless new lighting products for our customers. This gives us the opportunity to help our customers with another important area of their commercial and industrial facilities, taking our service to a new level."

Galco completed the acquisition of Lighting Supply on May 25, 2017, and the companies have already begun working together to better serve their mutual customers.
