MaxLite distributes ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs to low-income families in support of Light the Moment campaign

Families in the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey received a MaxLite ENERGY STAR certified LED light bulb along with their zucchini and carrots at the Table to Table mobile market, which provides free fresh produce to low-income families, on October 26, 2017.

MaxLite donated the bulbs and educated consumers about the energy-saving benefits of LED lighting in support of the ENERGY STAR Light the Moment campaign, a national call-to-action for Americans to change out their inefficient light bulbs with ENERGY STAR certified LED ones. ENERGY STAR and its partners, which include MaxLite, have been working towards a goal of helping consumers change out 300 million inefficient light bulbs with ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs this year.

Collectively, a change-out of this magnitude would save Americans approximately $1.5 billion dollars in annual energy bills and prevent 17 billion pounds of annual greenhouse gas emissions. By combining the Light the Moment campaign with the community outreach services of Table to Table, MaxLite is helping families lower energy costs and protect the environment.

ENERGY STAR certified bulbs use as much as 70-90 percent less energy than traditional bulbs and last at least 15 times longer. A single bulb can save $55 in electricity costs over its lifetime and last over 12 years with typical use. Only products that have earned the ENERGY STAR are independently certified to save energy and perform as expected.

MaxLite offers nearly 400 ENERGY STAR certified lighting products for the residential and commercial building markets.
