Recently, HC Semitek, Leyard and Changelight have revealed their progress of Mini and Micro LED, and so has Shenzhen MTC.

Shenzhen MTC said at an investor relations activity in mid-January that only TVs sized 80” or above might use Mini LED and Micro LED technology. The existing equipment of MTC is able to manufacture Mini LED, the company added.

To make full color Micro LED applications, red, green, and blue (RGB) Micro LED chips need to be spread out across the substrate. The bigger the chips are, the harder all RGB chips can be aptly spread out, Shenzhen MTC explained.

Another way to realize RGB Micro LED arrays is to line up chips of the three colors with alternate chip removal and replacement. For instance, after the first row of red chips are deployed, two red chips are removed with one staying in place in every unit of three chips. Then, green chips are placed on the substrate in the second round and blue ones in the third round to fill the gap left after the first round. RGB Micro LED arrays can thus be realized by repeating this process.

Shenzhen MTC continued that it timely follows the development of latest technologies. Currently, several technologies from the companies are reported ready for production. When the demand in the market reaches a certain level, the firm is able to mass produce its products to meet the demand, according to the company’s announcement.
