LensVector Controls the Spotlight at LFI with Dynamic Beam Shaping

LensVector will change the scene at Lightfair International this May as luminaire manufacturers and control companies demonstrate breakthrough Dynamic Beam Shaping technology. The lens allows infinite beam adjustment along a continuum from a less-than-ten-degree narrow spot to a very wide flood and eliminates the need for dedicated spot or flood lamps in many applications. Retail and hospitality lighting in particular will benefit from the precision beams and dynamic dramatic effects.

“Harnessing the value of LEDs requires technology breakthroughs that enable LED luminaires to offer more functionality and versatility than was ever possible with conventional lamps and fixtures,” said Brent York, President and CEO of LensVector. “Dynamic Beam Shaping gives architects and designers greater freedom to create engaging and dramatic environments.”

“LensVector enables us to offer a brand new dimension of light control with our Casambi platform,” said Timo Pakkala, CEO of Casambi. “With luminaires from Targetti and Forma Lighting, we will be showing just how simple it is for designers to create dramatic shapes and textures of light.”

LensVector’s liquid crystal technology integrates with current and future control protocols and allows unique solutions in the lighting market.

LensVector’s product utilizes an electrical field to align liquid crystal molecules to create a series of “micro-lenses”. By changing the electric field, the “micro-lenses” are manipulated to create desired illumination effects.
