Lumileds introduced the LUXEON MX, a multi-die emitter that delivers industry leading efficiency and flux for outdoor fixtures and high bay lighting applications. Lighting fixtures benefit from the emitter’s 1,200 lumen, 150 lm/W efficacy, at 85°C* which enables a system efficiency of 120 lm/W when driven at 700 mA. “This is double the flux of comparable emitters in 120 lm/W systems. We’ve achieved this performance leap by optimizing the LED for improved efficiency at higher drive currents up to 1.5A with the 12V device,” explained Seth Danielson, product manager for the LUXEON MX.

Cree, Inc., a market leader in LED lighting, today announced consolidated revenue of $347 million from continuing operations, and $54 million from discontinued operations, for a combined revenue of $401 million for its second quarter of fiscal 2017. This represents an 8% decrease compared to combined revenue of $436 million ($394 million from continuing operations and $42 million from discontinued operations) for the second quarter of fiscal 2016 and an 8% increase compared to the first quarter of fiscal 2017. Combined GAAP net income for the second quarter of fiscal 2017 was $6 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, compared to combined GAAP net income of $13 million, or $0.13 per diluted share, for the second quarter of fiscal 2016. On a non-GAAP basis, combined net income for the second quarter of fiscal 2017 was $30 million, or $0.30 per diluted share, compared to combined non-GAAP net income for the second quarter of fiscal 2016 of $28 million, or $0.28 per diluted share.

The latest report”2017 LED Street Light and Commercial Lighting Market” from TrendForce LED research center（LEDinside）shows，with the promotion and policy support of all areas for LED street lights, street light replacement cases have rapidly developed. In 2017 the global LED street lighting market value reaches USD 3.30 billion, and Europe and North America still account for the largest regional market. From the perspective of shipments, the compound annual growth rate of global LED street lights is still as high as 20% in 2016~2018. Later, as LED street lights have long lifetime and replacement inventory shrinks, the shipments will slightly decline.

Lumileds today introduced an online calculator that fixture manufacturers can use to more quickly optimize the design of their grow lights.
