Lately, Nissha Printing Co Ltd has developed a lighting apparatus using dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and started to sell it. It is the first time that a DSSC developed and manufactured in Japan has been commercialized. Sudbury Accelerated to Transform LED Streetlights

Sudbury has accelerated to transform LED streetlights after councillors voted Tuesday night to spend almost $1 million, along with some provincial grant money, to install 1,300 of the energy efficient bulbs across the city. Changing these light bulbs could save Greater Sudbury about $90,000 annually. The new LED bulbs only replace a fraction of the 14,000 streetlight bulbs in Greater Sudbury.
