It’s reported that Dialight, has introduced a new series of reverse-mount LED indication products created for the needs of electronic and industrial equipment manufacturers. Designed to help eliminate mixed-technology PC board processing, the 597 series microLED SMD LEDs are RoHS compliant and compatible with automatic placement equipment as well as surface-mount reflow soldering processes. The worldwide OLED display revenue in Q308 was US$141 million, down 11% quarter by quarter, but up 60% year by year, according to market sources. The incandescent lamp is being discontinued in Europe because it is so inefficient, the replacement of 3.5 billion incandescent lamps installed throughout Europe will lead to a reduction in the power consumed by lighting systems by more than 30 percent.

It’s reported that European researchers have developed a cost-effective method for manufacturing flexible displays in much the same way that newspapers are printed.

The Solar Vertical Lamp, designed by Yoon-Hui Kim and Eun-Kyung Kim, takes an average vertical blind and embeds it with special mini photovoltaics and LED pixels.
