Point Engineering’s 275nm Wavelength Deep UV LED PKG Has 99.9% Sterilization Ability

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has a huge impact on starting with our life and society. There is a possibility that all of our daily contact, living space, and drinking water could be the casue of infection. Point Engineering, located in Korea, has been provided Deep UV LED market since 2010 with the own aluminum metal substrate technology which optimized for UV characteristics and producing a variety of UVC PKG line up from 3.5mW to 1100mW UVC LED line up. In particular, Korea Chonbuk University conduct a coronavirus sterilization test and figured out that point engineering’s 275nm wavelength Deep UV LED PKG has 99.9% sterilization ability. PEC is working with companies that manufacture various sterilization products to prevent COVID-19 infection and doing best to bring better sterilization products to the market for better life quality.

In particular, Coronavirus can be sterilized in 99.9% within 2 seconds using high-power product such as 250mW UVC LED (9090Size) and this is an evidence result that rapid sterilization product development is available using high-power UVC LED. (initial fungus 1.58x104 TCID50/ml)

Experimental Evaluation of Sterilization ability for Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)

Point Engineering is capable of responding to sterilization in various fields ranging from the general home sterilization market to medical and industrial fields through the production of various output high-efficiency Deep UV LED PKG lineups from 3mW to 1100mW.

Point Engineering operates its own sterilization evaluation laboratory as a part to help customers reliable sterilization products develop. PEC has conducted numerous sterilization experiments in the fields of surface sterilization, water sterilization and air sterilization. Through this, PEC has numerous sterilization data and cases that suitable apply for various sterilization products. Based on this, PEC is providing ideas for structures that can have optimal sterilization power from the beginning of sterilization products development for customer needs.

Many experts predict that the emergence of a more dangerous and more contagious virus than Corona-19 will continue to occur in the future, and are telling us to prepare to respond accordingly. In the future, the sterilization market is expected to growing continuously, centering on eco-friendly UVC LEDs, and customer demand is also expected to expand.
