【Exclusive Interview】Absen Expects A Big Growth in Virtual Studio Market Demand of 2021

Absen is one of tier-one video wall players in the world. LEDinside was very honored to have an exclusive interview with Jason Polk, Marketing Coordinator from Absen Inc, the US subsidiary of Absen, to learn their new product development and market prospective of 2021.

Polk indicated that the video wall market demand has obviously been in recovery in the US market since September- October 2020, not only for sporting event, but also for business activities. In early 2021, Absen is pleased to release MR series for interactive rental and staging applications including concerts, trade shows, and virtual studio solutions. Currently the MR4.8 is available.

In the film production market, green screen and post-production are mainly used. At the end of 2020, it can be seen that LED video walls have been gradually introduced into the film production market, and their advantages can greatly reduce the time and cost in production process and post-production. Like movie theaters and home theaters, film production is another new niche market which requests high dynamic range (HDR), high frame rate (HFR), and high grayscale image. Picture quality, color fineness and fluency are especially emphasized. In addition, Polk indicated that film production (virtual studio) market demand has sufficiently increased since 2020, MR and Polaris series can satisfy the customer needs on high brightness (1,000nits+), high frame rate (HFR) , and high refresh rate of 3,840Hz and high grayscales of over 14 bits. Among those models, PL2.5 Pro is further capable of 1500 nits, the HDR and 16 bits grayscales. Besides, Absen cooperated with well-known controller maker- Novastar, in order to strengthen display effect.

In addition to mechanism design, the creativity of the MR series is also utilized through different installation scenarios. This includes being installed as an LED floor in virtual studio and broadcasting solutions and implementing XR technology for a more interactive experience. Plus, Polaris series is wall display design and pixel pitch includes PL2.5 Pro and PL2.9 XL.

Polk believes that virtual studio market demand will continue to expand in virtual event and virtual meeting solutions due to Covid-19 causing integrators to pivot in . Absen is pleased to work closely with their value added distributors, Almo Distributing and HD Distributing, LLC, which have Absen inventory stocked and are ready to provide a quick response to the needs of North American customers.

Polk indicated that material shortage has really affected order delivery, but Absen has confidence to overcome the challenge. In addition, at the end of April, the market demand will be clear to some extent as vaccines become more available worldwide.
