Acer Launches New Gaming Notebooks Featuring Mini LED Displays

Acer has recently launched a new gaming notebook (NB) portfolio: the Predator Triton and Predator Helios series. Powered by the 11th Gen Intel® Core TM H45 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 series GPUs, the two series allow users to choose between a Mini LED display and a 360Hz LCD.

With low-profile design and all-metal shell, the Predator Triton 500SE is only 19.9mm and can include up to an 11th Gen Intel® CoreTM i9 processor, RTX 3080 GPU, and 64 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 memory. This product has four exhaust vents and two ThunderboltTM 4 ports.
 
The model offers the following three options for the 16-inch 16:10 monitor:
 
1. A 165Hz WQXGA Mini LED display with 1,250 peak nits and 100% coverage of sRGB color gamut
2. a 165Hz WQXGA average LCD, 2560 x 1600 resolution
3. a 240Hz WQXGA IPS PolarBlack panel with a 3ms response time and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut that supports NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology.
 
Regarding its heat emission efficiency, the Predator Triton 500 SE has three fans, including a 5th Generation Aero Blade 3D Fan. The cooling system comprises five heat pipes for heat dissipation, plus a high-performance intake–exhaust venting system.
 
The NB features the Intel® KillerTM E3100 Ethernet Controller and Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 6 AX1650, providing users with low-latency internet connection. With two ThunderboltTM 4 ports, three USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, and an SD card reader, the Predator Triton 500 SE will be available in China in June, starting at RMB14,999.

Tailored for gamers, the Predator Helios 500 can be configured with an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i9 processor, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 series GPU, and 64 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz memory. The notebook is equipped with built-in PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 and a SATA HDD.
 
The Predator Helios 500 comes with a 17.3-inch AUO 4K Mini AmLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, supports full-array local dimming for super-high color saturation and contrast, and boasts a VESA Display HDR™ 1000 certification. Alternatively, the NB is compatible to AUO’s FHD monitor with a stunning 360Hz refresh rate and 3-ms response time.
 
Acer’s Predator Helios 500 is exclusively supported by the PowerGem™ technology, whereby a special alloy cooling fan is placed on the top of the processor to achieve heat dissipation. The heat sink inside adopts Acer’s Vortex Flow technology with a 5th Gen AeroBlade™ 3D Fan and four exhaust vents. Around its shell, this gaming NB has numerous RGB light bars, allowing users to tailor the lighting effect using software. Further, the computer is equipped with a MagTek mechanical keyboard with RGB backlighting as well.
 
The Predator Helios 500 has an HDMI2.1 port, a mini-DP1.4 port, two ThunderboltTM 4 ports, three USB3.2 Gen2A ports, plus an RJ45 port. The built-in Intel® Killer™ E3100 Ethernet Controller, Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 and Killer™ Intelligence Center can provide excellent internet connection for gamers. Moreover, the computer supports DTS:X Ultra sound effects and 5G mobile network cards, enabling users to enjoy seamless online gameplay when traveling.
 
Acer’s Predator Helios 500 (PH517-52) will be available in China in August 2021, starting at RMB 39,999.
