Sollum Technologies takes home Greenhouse Technology Award in Production category

News Source:

Montréal, Québec, Canada, October 4, 2021 – Sollum Technologies’ smart LED lighting solution has won the Greenhouse Technology Awards in the Production category. The company is delighted to receive this award as a testament to the Sollum team’s hard work in creating a smart LED lighting solution that improves greenhouse efficiency by replicating the effect of natural sunlight on plant growth.

Debuting this year, the Greenhouse Technology Awards, presented by Greenhouse Canada and sponsored by the Canadian Greenhouse Conference (CGC), recognize significant technological advances in the areas of greenhouse and controlled environment agriculture. The choice of winner was decided based on four primary criteria: innovation, importance, effectiveness, and impact. In their feedback, the judges specifically highlighted the diverse applications of Sollum’s technology – including its numerous benefits in winter pepper production – and were also impressed by the ability of the solution to be integrated with existing greenhouse control systems.

“This Greenhouse Technology Award highlights Sollum Technologies’ continued commitment to producing cutting edge tech solutions in the controlled horticulture sector" says Sollum Technologies’ VP Business Development, Kassim Tremblay. "Receiving this recognition following other major achievements goes to show that Sollum is emerging as a leader among its competitors in greenhouse innovation.”

This is the second award that Sollum Technologies has won in the last months, the other being the prestigious Sapphire Award in the horticultural lighting category. Sollum’s LED lighting solution also obtained DesignLights Consortium (DLC) certification. Read the respective press releases for these accomplishments here and here.

About Sollum Technologies

Inspired by nature, Sollum Technologies was founded in 2015 to offer greenhouse growers the only smart LED lighting solution which dynamically recreates, perfects, and modulates the full spectrum of the Sun’s natural light. The company is based in Montréal (Québec, Canada), where its design, development, and manufacturing activities are concentrated. Sollum™ works closely with its clients and research centers to create recipes that are adapted to the growth cycle of each crop, regardless of its native climate or the location of the greenhouse. Its SUN as a Service® cloud platform enables multi-zone light management so growers can implement several different recipes simultaneously in the same greenhouse. The platform also automatically adapts the lighting of each zone to the ambient light to match recipe targets. Sollum’s award-winning lighting solution thereby provides unparalleled value in terms of energy savings, productivity, and superior produce quality through a flexible, adaptive, and easy-to-use application, with great respect for the environment.
