Zumtobel illuminates the new constructed Sägerbrücke bridge in Dornbirn by using a customised LED outdoor solution. With SUPERSYSTEM outdoor it was possible to achieve a completely uniform illumination of the entire surface and maximum visual comfort for the bridge and the “Do.Helix” installation crafted by the artist Hubert Lampert. The precise light distribution helps avoid unnecessary light pollution, mean that the lighting solutions represents an extremely energy-efficient choice.

Illuminating Main Street Bridge in Welland Ontario

The Main Street Bridge is a vertical lift bridge that crosses the Welland Canal in downtown Welland, Ontario, Canada. Built in 1930, the bridge is the location of a historical intersection linking East Main Street which leads to Niagara Falls, to West Main Street and the rest of the town. The Main Street Bridge stretches 70.6 m (232 ft) long and stands 9.1 m (30 ft) high.

The new dynamic color-changing lighting system, a shining example of public-private partnership, transforms the popular daytime destination into a lively nighttime art piece and backdrop for waterfront events. The project delivers on Mayor Fischer’s six-year plan to create a clean, green, inclusive environment through the use of innovative, energy-efficient LED technology.  The addition of the lighting further cements the bridge as an iconic symbol of Louisville and a reflection of the vibrant community that surrounds it.

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts, USA is one of the widest cable-stayed bridges in the world. Named for both the local civil rights activist Leonard P. Zakim and the American colonists who fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill, the ten-lane bridge spans the Charles River and carries over 200,000 cars each day to and from major interstates on the north side of the city. At night, lit with bright blue light, the Zakim Bridge is an instantly recognizable feature of the city skyline. In an interview with The Boston Globe, bridge architect Miguel Rosales said: “the bridge is supposed to have the feel of a regal entry to Boston, the towers bathed in blue, the cables highlighted in gleaming white."

Dragon Bridge in Da Nang, Vietnam

Being opened to traffic on March 29th, 2013, the Dragon Bridge, which was designed by the US-based Ammann & Whitney Consulting Engineers with Louis Berger Group, is the second bridge run across the Hàn River. The bridge is shaped as an eastern dragon and illuminated by Philips luminaires so it looks like a true dragon surfing on the water.
