A historic light-art concert in Jena, Germany, featured a color-changing performance by 170 LED-illuminated weather balloons in a custom installation engineered by a team assembled by Future Lighting Solutions. In Europe cities like Berlin, Prague and Warsaw, the ancient gas street lamps are to be replaced with LED lamps, which will cut power consumption by more than 90% without altering the old-world look or the light quality of the gas-driven fixtures. It’s reported that Future Lighting Solutions has provided key technical design assistance for new energy-saving LED light fixtures unveiled last month on the Hong Kong MTR (Mass Transit Railway). The new fixtures, each comprised of 32 high-powered LEDs, are designed to reduce energy consumption on the city’s trains, extend bulb life to lower replacement costs, and provide more natural lighting than conventional fluorescent tubing for commuter comfort.
