Simple, Constant-Current Linear Regulator from Diodes Incorporated Improves LED Current Tolerance

Diodes Incorporated, a global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete, logic and analog semiconductor markets, today introduced the AL5809. This constant-current LED driver is offered in a robust two-terminal PowerDI®-123 package, and provides an improved accuracy, cost-effective solution for LEDs driving. With its 1.2W maximum power dissipation, excellent 20ppm/°C temperature stability and high power-supply rejection ratio, the AL5809 delivers LED currents with a ±5% tolerance over a wide temperature range, greatly simplifying the solutions for its target applications of LED signage, LED strip lighting and low-current retrofit lamps.
