EpiTop Announces Record High Power DUV LEDs

EpiTop Inc., a leading company in the development and manufacturing of deep ultraviolet light emitting diodes (DUV LEDs) today announces that they have demonstrated high performance DUV LEDs with wavelength at 280nm from a single 4545 large chip device, achieved a world record optical output power of 176.6 miliwatt @ 1A dc operation at room temperature. According to the best of their knowledge it is so far the highest reported optical power from a single die at such shorter wavelength under dc operation. The L-I and IV characteristic of the 4545 large chip was plotted below.

Flip Chip Opto releases a first-in-class 2400 watt high-power LED Flip Chip COB. The 2400 watt Flip Chip COB is part of their flagship Apollo series based on the company’s patented 3-Pad Pillar Metal Core Printed Circuit Board technology. This technology allows a breakthrough in high powered flip chip LEDs, reducing the junction temperatures to 0.003˚C/W on Apollo 2400.
