With the development of global LED lighting industry, nowadays, the LED industry in all regions has formed new pattern. The market is no longer occupied by Europe and the United States and other developed countries, many new blue ocean markets are emerging.

As the blue ocean for the development of LED lighting industry, the Southeast Asian market is attracting more and more foreign manufacturers to enter eagerly. And accurate and appropriate product strategy is an indispensable tool for successfully seizing market share in Southeast Asia. Making corresponding product specifications and prices depending on varied products and countries plays a driving role in promoting manufacturers’ own brands or seeking OEM opportunities.

Everlight was one of the few manufacturers showcasing LEDs for niche market applications at LED Expo Thailand 2015, which took place last week at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center.

Manufacturers, who hope to leave the fiercely competitive Chinese lighting market and other mature lighting markets, are turning their attention to emerging Southeast Asian markets or even Russia, said Roger Chu, Research Director of LEDinside at LEDforum 2014 which took place in Taipei, Taiwan last month.

Taiwanese lighting equipment maker, China Electric Manufacturing Corporation, has intended to export LED lighting to Southeast Asia starting this fourth quarter. The company says it has been mainly promoting exports of LED bulbs, LED tubes, and T5 lights to Southeast Asia. There is ample business potential in Southeast Asia seeing the LED lighting penetration there is only 5% to 8%, with that in Taiwan to reach estimated 30% to 40% in 2012, and even higher rates in Japan, the United States, and Europe....

Singapore has been actively increasing energy-saving awareness and adopting LED lighting in public area. Given the prosperous development of the Asian LED market over the recent years, LED companies have been seeking cooperation with LED product distributors and construction and real estate companies in Southeast Asia region. Dominant Semiconductors recently added new high intensity white (DSW-NSG) and warm white (DSF-NSG) which feature longer life and higher light intensity to its Right Angle DomiLED series, replacing the existing DSW-USD device.
