LG Chem’s 45 lm/W OLED Panels to Mass Production

Recently, LG Chem has completed the development of their first OLED lighting panel, and has planned to start mass production. The new panel called the "type 1" panel, or the LG-OLED-041 is a 100x100 mm square panel that features 4,000K, CRI>80, 45 lm/W and 10,000 hours lifetime (LT70) at 3,000 nits. Samsung Electronics to Inject $41.7 billion in OLED Investment

Samsung Electronics has intended to inject about $41.7 billion to put more distance from competitors in 2012. There are about $22 billion will boost its manufacturing capacity for logic chips, MEMS sensors and OLED displays as well as memory and LCD production. LG Announces The World’s Largest 55 Inch OLED TV

LG has announced the world’s largest OLED display at 55 inch, marking that we are much closer to getting mass produced OLED displays. The new TV features a ‘wider’ color gamut than LCD screens and is impossibly thin — only 5mm. LG’s LED Lights Decorates Its Twin Towers

LG Electronics has installed its LED lights and a dedicated lighting control system in its Twin Towers headquarters buildings in Seoul, which is considered as one of the world's largest LED lighting installation. SEMI Forms Partner with Korean University

Recently, SEMI has developed an agreement with Korea Polytechnic University(KPU) on a talent training program for the LED and photovoltaic industries.
