Universal Display Corporation, enabling energy-efficient displays and lighting with its UniversalPHOLED ® technology and materials, today announced the signing of an OLED Technology License Agreement and Supplemental Material Purchase Agreement with Tianma Micro-electronics, a leading Chinese small-and medium-size display panel manufacturer. The agreements run for five years.

Samsung has filed a patent invalidation lawsuit against LG in an intellectual property (IP) tribunal in their homeland.The former now asks the tribunal to invalidate several LG OLED patents and consequently drop the patent infringement case. Universal Display has spent $105 million to buy FUJIFILM’s entire worldwide patent portfolio of more than 1,200 OLED patents and patent applications.
