Epistar Files U.S. Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Adamax

Epistar, a leading innovator and manufacturer of LED solid-state lighting technologies, filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Adamax Inc.(d/b/a Newhouse Lighting) in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California on August 30, 2016. The complaint asserts that Newhouse Lighting products and technology infringe six Epistar patents and seeks injunctive relief to halt the further sale of the infringing Newhouse Lighting products.

Nichia Talks about Suit Filed against Vizio

Nichia announced several LED patent lawsuits this week, including its two patent infringement suits filed against TV manufacturer Vizio in Eastern Court of Texas and District Court for the Central District of California in U.S., and ongoing YAG patents lawsuit against Everlight China. The lawsuit filed against Vizio stands out in particular, since it targets the end product manufacturer instead of a LED chip or component supplier.

Nichia Filed a Patent Infringement Lawsuit against Emcore's Laser Diode Products

On June 11, 2013, Nichia Corporation filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to enjoin Emcore Corporation of Albuquerque, New Mexico, from infringing Nichia’s U.S. Patent No. 7,295,587 and to claim damages for the infringement with regard to laser diode products sold by Emcore.
