Zumtobel Group opens showroom in Malmö

On 13 June 2017 the Zumtobel Group opened the first showroom displaying the international lighting group’s entire product range. In collaboration with the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta, the Zumtobel Group has created a space over approximately 250 square metres in which light can be experienced in all its diverse areas of application. The display is located in the Swedish city of Malmö, which is already home to Zumtobel Group’s main sales office for the Nordic region. The site is now being extended with the showroom in the same building.

Paris Notre-Dame Interior Basks in LED Glow

Royal Philips, the global leader in lighting, announced it is illuminating the interior of Notre-Dame de Paris with LEDs that will show off the cathedral’s gothic features as never seen before. Philips is placing LED technology at the service of 850 years of history, paying tribute to the architecture of this Gothic masterpiece. A total of more than 400 luminaires were used, with an installed capacity of just 30 kW, compared with almost 140 kW previously – reducing energy consumption by 80 percent.

LEDinside:LED backlight application growth eases in June, manufacturers rush towards lighting market

The total revenue of Taiwanese listed LED manufacturers plunged to NTD 10.6 billion in June 2013, as the LED market was affected by declining demand for backlight application and stocktaking, according to LEDinside, a research subsidiary of industry research organization TrendForce. Revenue of listed LED chip manufacturers reached NTD 3.97 billion, while LED package manufacturers revenue grew to NTD6.63 billion.
