Chinese LED manufacturer Leyard has halted trade on China’s bourse as the company prepares to acquire Mingji Electronic Technology (Beijing) (Mingji) and LEDAVENUE.

Chinese LED manufacturer Leyard’s oversea military orders reached nearly RMB 100 million (US $16 million) last year, according to a Jinghua report.

Chinese LED manufacturer Leyard’s estimated net profits had shoot up 90% to 110% in 2014 to RMB 152 million to RMB 162 million (US $24.45 million to US $26.06 million), according to a Chinese-language Panorama Network report.

To expand its presence in the international market, Leyard Optoelectronic (Leyard) recently announced scaling up financing two subsidiaries to speed up business developments and management.

China based manufacturers Leyard and Kangde Xin Composite Material (Kangde Xin) are combining their manufacturing strengths to expand the display market by signing a cooperative agreement on June 25, 2014. 

Leyard’s 0.8mm small pitch TV already has the potential to move into the residential market and will be first promoted in the high-end market. The company claims to be the first company to utilize 0.8mm technology. “No other company has the technological capacity yet,” said Leyard.

Leyard announced first quarter 2014 financial results on April 23, 2014. Operating revenue grew 28.43 percent YoY to NT$ 142 million (US$4.7 million). Net income attributed to shareholders was NT$10 million, up 29 percent YoY. EPS increased 16.67 percent YoY to NT$ 0.07. 

Li Nannan, Leyard Secretary of the Board and Deputy General Manager, discussed the company’s fiscal 2013 financial performance in depth during an interview with social network service website for investors, Xueqiu, on April 8th. 

Leyard has become the global leading manufacturer for LED small pitch TV displays. The company currently has a market share of 80 percent for 2.5mm and below small pitch displays, according to a recent report by Everbright Securities. 

Leyard anounced the company will be temporary suspended from the stockmarket starting Feb. 20 due to restructuring.

RGB package technology continues to advance. As LED package components shrink, display dimensions follow suit, gradually reducing in size. This as well as improvements to driver IC and backend system technology is driving up display resolution and color performance. Technological improvements and increased demand for displays used in outdoor commercial, public buildings, and indoor commercial spaces is anticipated to drive up the display replacement trend in 2014. Industry insiders are optimistic about the development of the display market for 2014.

Leyard announced that the company received the “National Key Product Certificate” on December 30th issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China for their high definition LED display system.

According to reports, Leyard officially released the world's largest 4K Ultra-High Definition (UHD) LED large-screen TV in the size of 288 inch, and also launched five LED TV products in the minimum size of 110 inch.
