Georgia Power announced that roadways across the state will benefit from higher-quality lighting thanks to a new multi-year partnership with local governments. The company, which owns and maintains approximately 400,000 roadway lights for local governments, is in the process of converting thousands of high-pressure sodium (HPS) roadway lights to new energy efficient LEDs. The LED lighting upgrade is available to cities and municipalities upon request.

Georgia Power announced it has rolled out a LED lighting upgrade for approximately 12,500 high pressure sodium lights in City of Columbus in Ohio, U.S, reported WTVM.

Georgia Power announced today the newest addition to its portfolio of energy efficiency programs – instant savings of 20-50 percent on ENERGY STAR® Certified LEDs at participating The Home Depot stores throughout the state. Georgia Power customers will receive immediate savings at the register with no coupons or mail-in rebates necessary. The promotion is valid through November 30, 2013, while supplies last.
