Samsung Launches 8500-series LED HDTVs

Samsung Thursday announced in the U.S. its new 8500 HDTVs with a dynamic contrast ratio of 7,000,000:1. The new 46 and 56-inch models feature local-dimmer LED backlighting. Blinx has introduced new sound responsive LED earphones, reports Ubergizmo. The earphones are equipped with a control box which enables the LED to pulse according to the tune of the music being played. Sony X5500 LED TVs are set to launch September or October this year and are expected to be exhibited for the first time on the big consumer electronics fair IFA 2009 in Berlin this September.
