Based on a survey of about 30 manufacturers, LEDinside has compiled some of the general lighting trends observed at LED Expo Thailand 2015, which ran from May 21-24, 2015 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center. Some of the most notable trends include LED T5 tube market is gradually being replaced with LED T8 tubes.

Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) announces the introduction of two eGaN FETs that raise the bar for power conversion performance. These products have a maximum operating temperature of 150°C and pulsed currents capabilities of 260 A (150 V EPC2033) and 140 A (EPC2034). Applications include DC-DC converters, synchronous rectification in DC/DC and AC/DC converters, motor drives, LED lighting, and industrial automation.

Royal Philips, the global leader in lighting, announces today the world’s first major install of its connected lighting system with LED-based indoor positioning for Carrefour, the leading retailer in Europe and the third-largest in the world. The newly refurbished Carrefour hypermarket in Lille, France has replaced its previous fluorescent lighting with 2.5 kilometers of energy efficient Philips LED lighting that uses light to transmit a location signal to a shopper’s smartphone, triggering an app to provide location-based services.

Osram has obtained a favorable first instance judgment in a patent infringement lawsuit against the Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer ASUSTek Computer Osram had claimed that certain white LED such as those incorporated in first generation ASUS Nexus 7 tablets infringe its German patent DE 196 55 185. The District Court in Düsseldorf has awarded Osram an injunction and found that ASUS has to compensate Osram’s damage caused by the patent infringement. ASUS has filed an appeal against this judgment. Osram has initiated the provisional enforcement of the judgment against the provision of a security.

Several LED lighting manufacturers interviewed at LED Expo Thailand 2015, which took place from May 21-24, 2015 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center showed interest in entering the Thailand LED automotive lighting sector, including Taiwanese LED manufacturers Everlight and Laser Tech.

TP LED Lighting’s in-house 2835 LED package production capacity is sufficient enough to meet the production of at least 60,000 LED T8 tube lights, said the company’s Director Howard Huang during an interview with LEDinside at LED Expo Thailand 2015, which took place from May 21-24, 2015 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center.

Paul’s new position will allow Acolyte to have full sales and customer service support throughout the Middle East.
