The city of Gatlinburg  has completed lighting replacement under a Tennessee Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant which will result in immediate savings in electricity usage. New Glasgow is to replace the current high-pressure sodium lights in street with LED lights in the coming weeks. India800 Foundation, an organisation which works for people living below poverty line ,has supported solar LED lamps for over 50 backward villages that do not have electricity.
