EPISTAR announced it has reached agreement with KAISTAR lighting (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.(Kaistar). The LED filament bulb products of Kaistar and its subsidiaries are licensed under Epistar’s filament patents.

The ninth annual Taiwan International Lighting Show (TILS 2018) opened with much fanfare in Hall 1 of Taipei World Trade Center on 25 April. Seoul Semiconductor on April 30 announced consolidated first-quarter revenues of Korean won (KrW) 283.0 billion (USD 263 million). The rise in consolidated revenue came from strong sales in general lighting, especially from the automotive lighting segment and strength across all application segments, with the IT division delivering high single digit growth YoY. The results fall within the company’s guided KrW 270 billion and KrW 290 billion for the quarter.

Projector-reflector solutions from Osram provide uniform lighting and minimum reflection in swimming pool halls. In such applications a projector emits a lumen package that is split via a deflection reflector back into the space to be illuminated without glare. LG Electronics announced Monday that it plans to bolster its LED lighting product portfolio by introducing products that emit less blue light and are thus easier on the human eye.

The “blue light” emitted by street lights including LEDs, and commercial outdoor lighting such as advertising, is linked to a significant increase in the risk of breast and prostate cancer, innovative new research has concluded.

Earlier today, the Board of Directors of LG Electronics (LG) approved the acquisition of leading automotive lighting and headlight systems provider ZKW Group, capping a deal worth more than EUR 1.1 billion, LG's largest acquisition to date. Under the terms of the transaction, LG Electronics will acquire a 70 percent stake in ZKW Group with parent company LG Corp. purchasing the remaining 30 percent.

illumiPure Corp. and WeedMD have entered into a Joint Proof of Concept (PoC) Agreement to assess the tools and techniques of illumiPure's high-quality LED horticulture lighting system. The intent of the PoC is to document the improvements in quality of WeedMD's cannabis product while reducing electricity usage and maintenance costs.
