The streets of Wallingford, America have got a LED makeover lately.
The Wallingford installations are part of a Seattle citywide upgrade to LEDs that began this summer.
City Light will install 5,000 LED streetlights in residential neighborhoods in 2010 and a total of 40,000 during the next five years.
The 2010 installations will take place from the Ship Canal to 65th Street.

According to a Rapid City traffic engineer John Less in America, since changing over to LED traffic lights three years ago, the city has achieved positive results, so it's going to make a pilot program on LED street lights.
The city is using a $49,000 federal grant to replace street lights on Main and St. Joseph streets with two different bulbs to see which one produces the best results.
Main Street will get LED street light fixtures while Saint Joseph will get induction fixtures similar to fluorescent bulbs.
