The National Defence Academy (NDA) of India has decided to replace about one lakh lights with LED lamps in key establishments of the academy for energy saving. At present, The NDA has nearly 3,100 street lamps, mostly sodium or mercury vapour lights ranging from 75 watts to 250 watts.
