Recently, Michigan-based LED manufacturer Relume Technologies launches its new Ecovista billboard fixture during the 2011 OAAA/TAB National Convention & Trade Show in Miami. Latin America Roadway Network Brighten up by Carmanah

Recently, Carmanah has supplied a sale worth over $625,000 USD for its EG340 solar lights to illuminate a road network at industrial facility in Latin America.   The facility owners chose Carmanah EG340 solar lights based on the low maintenance requirements for the lights and cost saving advantage. Cree has released LMH6 module, the first high-lumen product in its fully-integrated LED module family, targeting to commercial applications, such as restaurants, retail, airports, schools and hospitality lighting. Lawrence Carries out LED Retrofit Project

The city of Lawrence will invest over $172,000 to replace 115 lights with LEDs, as part of its overall goal to improve the quality of life for the community. The installation is arranged in early June. According to Assistant director of public works Mark Thiel, each new light costs about $1,500. The Ventures of Samsung LED and Sumitomo Chemical to Break Ground

It’s said that Samsung LED has decided to team up with Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical to build a sapphire ingot plant in Daegu. They plan to break the ground in the 11,000 square meter site on April 20, with the target date for completion in coming October. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Announced Updated Standards for Light Fixtures

On Tuesday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced updated standards for light fixtures to qualify for the Energy Star label. According to EPA, effective Oct. 1, to receive Energy Star endorsement, light fixtures will need to increase efficiency 30 percent above currently qualified fluorescent-based fixtures. In addition, the requirement will rise to 40 percent greater efficiency than current Energy Star lighting in 2013.
