LED Bulb is Friendlier All Around

American government says that if every American home replaced one light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb, we could save enough energy to prevent greenhouse gases equal to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars. Certainly great news, yet recycling burned-out CFL light bulbs poses a quandary for homeowners.

MacBook Air Spurring LED Use in Screens: DisplaySearch

The MacBook Air has become the best advertisement for why companies should use LED (light-emitting diode) backlights in notebook screens, and is driving adoption, according to market researcher DisplaySearch. LED backlights in display screens are an improvement over old CCFL (cold-cathode florescent lamps) technology for several reasons, including a stunning picture due to more vibrant contrasts, better power savings, and they're easier on the environment because they contain no mercury and last longer.

Once Bright Future Beginning to Dim, LED Lighting is Partly to Blame for Neon's Decline

Approaching Light Design Neon in Chelsea, it's hard to tell whether it's still in operation. A glowing pink and turquoise sign reading "Neon" hangs in the window, but lower down, so does a more sober "For Sale" notice. Inside, a colossal Marilyn Monroe fixture smiles down from the back wall, alongside images of Mufasa and Simba from "The Lion King." Out-of-service signs from a money-transfer shop and the nearby Katz Bagel Bakery lean against the shelving below.

A Brief Discussion on the Advantages of Automotive LED Application

LED is made up of a very small chip packaged in the epoxy resin. Generally, the operating voltage is 2-3.6V and the operating current is 0.02-0.03A. Traditional incandescent lamp emits light depending on tungsten filament, and the power-saving lamp depends on tricolor powder. Different from these two kinds of lamps, LED emits light through electric field. Long lifespan, high efficiency, absence of radiation and energy saving is the advantages of LED light. These advantages destined it to replace traditional light sources and to be used extensively.
