Town of East Hartford Receives LED Streetlights and Outdoor Lighting Upgrade

Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE:AMRC), a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, announced today that it is working with the Town of East Hartford to develop and implement an LED street light and exterior lighting upgrade project at select locations. Under a $2 million Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) including more than $480,000 in incentives, new street lights are being installed throughout town, and the Public Safety Complex, Community Cultural Center, Town Hall Offices, Terry Pool Park, Town Green Alumni Park and Firehouse #5 will benefit from exterior lighting upgrades resulting in more than 1.6 million kWh in annual electric savings. The U.S. Department of Energy has released a GATEWAY report on a trial demonstration in which the incumbent quartz metal halide (QMH) area lighting was replaced with LED at three pole locations along a 7.2-mile stretch of the Yuma (Arizona) Sector Border Patrol Area.
