Two European Companies Invest in Turkey

Two European companies including Germany’s Osram and Legrand are preparing for investment in Turkey. Martin Goetzeler , Chief Executive of Osram disclosed that Osram was thinking about investing LED technology in Turkey. Osram’s global revenue reached EUR 4.7 billion in 2010 and its sales in Turkey increased twofold in the last four years. Peak values right on the Planckian curve OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has set a new laboratory record of 142 lm/W for the efficiency of a warm white LED light source. With a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 2755 K the LED achieves a good color rendering index (CRI) of 81. Lowes Starts Selling Osram Sylvania 60-watt Replacement LED

Osram Sylvania has released a  piece of news that home improvement store Lowes will unseat the 60-watt incandescent bulbs with 12 watts Sylvania's general-purpose LED bulb. According to Osram Sylvania, the Ultra A-Line bulb will be available online in November and in all Lowe's stores by the second quarter of 2011. The price will $39.98, while Home Depot is selling a 60-watt replacement LED from Philips at the price of $39.97.

The new IR-LED achieves a radiant intensity of typically 22 mW/sr and a total radiant flux of 70 mW in continuous operation at 70 mA driving current.
