Philips Lighting has implemented dynamic LED lighting for the prestigious apartment and hotel complex OVO Wrocław, in Wrocław, Poland. The building is equipped with over one kilometer of linear LED fixtures, 8,500 luminaries and 6,750 remote controlled modules.

The sight of the current building dates from 1845 and underwent a large renovation to introduce 39 new galleries in 2009.

South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) held a ceremonial groundbreaking yesterday to celebrate the brand new stadium lighting being installed at El Camino High School. The makeover taking place on the athletic field is just one key part of a comprehensive, district-wide program enhancing the District's sustainability profile as well as linking technical facility upgrades to STEM initiatives across grade levels. A large crowd including District Leadership, local elected officials, 25 student athletes representing a wide array of El Camino sports teams, and community members gathered to commemorate the beginning of this new chapter of energy work happening across campuses.

Philips Lighting, a global leader in lighting, today announced the largest LED stadium lighting system of its type for Australia’s newest sporting venue, Perth Stadium. The stadium plans to use LED lighting to support its mission to become the premier, multi-purpose venue in the southern hemisphere.

A total of 16 pcs of P-5 LED wash lights played a crucial role the in festival Moscow Ice. In the Family Circle, which was a huge ice installation in Moscow’s Victory Park (Park Pobedy).

Following renovation work, the Schallberg tunnel on the Simplon Pass is now a much brighter place thanks to LED components from Tridonic. The extensive work took around two and a half years and has transformed the old dark 1970s construction into a modern tunnel packed with state-of-the-art technology.

Lighting designer Cory FitzGerald has declared the multi-functional Philips Vari-Lite VL4000 BeamWash luminaire as essential for the redesigned 2017 leg.

Toyota announced at the CES 2017 in Las Vegas its groundbreaking concept artificial intelligence car, recently. The company does not go into detail about the dazzling light sources used to illuminate the interior and exterior of the automobile, but judging from the car's appearance a lot of programmable lights were probably used to give it the distinctive style and look.

Popular musical “Dirty Dancing” returned to London’s West End in December playing the Phoenix Theatre following a regional UK tour with a lively production that originally premiered in Italy in 2015 where it played Milan and Rome. This production has also toured in Spain and Mexico with additional troupes.

We have been fortunate to work on many high-profile projects over the years, but one that remains close to all our hearts at Lighting Science was when we were asked to help redesign and retrofit the New York City’s Time Square Ball with LED lighting almost 10 years ago.  This beloved New York icon was given a much-needed 21st century makeover by Lighting Science Group and a handful of industry leaders, to help create a bigger, brighter and more energy-efficient New Year’s Eve Ball.

Originally from Australia, he is now in London operating tours and designing projects globally.

The A2 motorway in the Netherlands is one of the busiest in the country, connecting the capital city Amsterdam to Liège, in Belgium. The lighting on certain sections of the motorway was no longer meeting the required levels and needed to be replaced.

The place is internationally famous: Lech am Arlberg in Austria is a picture-postcard skiing location surrounded by an impressive mountain scenery, up to 2,809 meters above sea level. What is less widely known is the fact that some 1,500 people live in Lech. Some more figures: 8,300 hotel beds are available; the small village located on the banks of the Lech rivulet at the foot of the mountains raggedly towering above it boasts almost one million overnight stays every year. Lech lives on tourism, and instead of simply relying on its exquisite location, the village sets great store by enthusing its guests anew every year.
