According to CRS Electronics, its LED MR16 lamps currently have become the only LED MR16 approved for a rebate under two US undisclosed major electric utilities’ incentive program offered to their commercial customers.
It’s said that the two major utilities service a combined area of more than 100,000 sq. mi. in 40 counties within the continental United States. Therefore, it’s an opportunity for CRS to capitalize on these rebate programs.

The Haxton Way Trail, for the Lummi Nation Indian Reservation, Lummi Nation, Washington has selected Carmanah Technologies Corporation’s 70 EverGEN 1710 solar LED lighting systems to improve the safety of pedestrians that use the popular three-mile long pathway, which stretches across environmentally-sensitive wetlands.
The Haxton Way Trail follows a network of protected wetlands and wetland complexes, which account for almost half of the Lummi Reservation's total upland area.

Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) has published their 2011-2015 business plan. Their R&D strategy includes four priority items, one of them being OLED Lighting. Their plan is to produce 80lm/W 40,000 hours white OLEDs in 2015. They say that the cost will be ¥4 per lm - which means $3.8 for the 80lm/W device - but they do not specify the size (area) of those OLEDs.

GT Solar has acquired its first two orders totaling more than $84 million for sapphire crystallization systems from Jiangsu Jixing New Material Co., Ltd and Jiujiang Sapphire Tech Co., Ltd.
Total annual production capacity of the two orders is approximately eight million two-inch equivalents (TIE) of sapphire substrates.
The two orders represent GT Solar's entry into the LED equipment market, which GT Solar stated it would pursue when it announced its acquisition of Crystal Systems in July of 2010.
