It has released 72-inch 72LEX9 widescreen in Korea with a 480Hz True Motion panel, DLNA connectivity, and now-typical support for plenty of online sites and programs such as YouTube. Philips Electronics India Ltd has released new range of LED consumer bulbs, a 5W retrofit bulb along with the 2W candle and 7WSpotlight bulbs for various lighting applications inside homes for the Indian market. According to the company, the new range of bulbs are not only upto 80% energy efficient compared to traditional  incandescent bulbs but also are capable of producing better quality and more versatile lighting and has life of about 15 years.

A New Range of Television Launched by Philips in India

Philips has launched 15 models of LEDs, 8 models of LCDs and 5 models of ultra slim TVs, which it said would redefine the premium television market in India. The price range of the LED TVs starts from Rs.26,500, while that of LCD TVs from Rs.16,499. The price range for ultra slim TVs starts from Rs.5,290. According to the company, it also will launch its flat panel TV range under the flagship model Cinema 21:9 TV, world's first cinema proportion 3D LED pro TV with ambilight.

LG Electronics Launches New 72-inch 3-D-equipped LED TV in South Korea

LG Electronics has launched a 72-inch 3-D-equipped LED TV in the South Korea market. The new LED TV model features the largest screen among the 3-D LED TVs available in the market. The new product is priced at 20 million won (US$17,825). According to the company spokesman Park Young-shin, the 72-inch TV will be launched in the global market early in 2011.

GE's LED Products Helps to Cut The Cost of The Chips Used in The Bulbs

According to the division's chief of General Electric, its lighting unit may draw as much as 75 percent of sales from LED products within the next decade, compared with less than 10 percent now, which means rising competition among GE suppliers is helping cut the cost of the chips used in the bulbs.   It's said that U.S. legislation will bring an end to production of the 100-watt incandescent bulb in 2012, prompting consumers to switch to other types including halogen and compact fluorescents. Lower-wattage incandescent bulbs will be phased out later.

America Energy Conservation Program of the Navy has installed 120 W EvoLucia LED street lights. It's the first major government order for Sunovia. The General Services Administration contract was awarded in earlier 2010. A marine base in North Carolina called Camp Lejeune was the first government customer of Sunovia. And Camp Lejeune had installed the EvoLucia LED streetlights in the campus in December, 2009.

TV backlight orders see no improvement while revenues of LED vendors generally slipped in September

Based on the analysis and statistics of LEDinside, which is a research division under TrendForce, in September this year, listed LED manufacturers in Taiwan have total revenue of 9.736 billion NTD, an 8.1% decline compared with August revenue of 10.593 billion NTD and 45.8% rise in YoY. The revenue for LED chip manufacturers in September reached 4.554 billion NTD, down 6.9% from August. The revenue for LED package manufacturers in September amounted to 5.182 billion NTD, down 9.1% from August.
