OSRAM’s Infrared Power TOPLED with Stack Chip Technology

The Power TOPLED SFH4250S from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors emits almost double the infrared light compared to the standard component SFH4250. The new IR-LED achieves a radiant intensity of typically 22 mW/sr and a total radiant flux of 70 mW in continuous operation at 70 mA driving current. With its high radiance the component allows the design of very compact lighting units. In existing designs the effective range can be increased significantly.

Lite-On Technology reports October sales of NT$ 10.32 Billion

Lite-On Technology Corp. (TW 2301) reported October consolidated revenue of NT$10.32 billion, up 10% on year. The sales growth was attributable to Lite-On’s ongoing expansion in market share, coupled with stable demand. Cumulative sales from January through October reached NT$103.2 billion, up 32% Y-o-Y.

Bentleyville’s Only Steel Fabricated Christmas Tree with LED Lights

Bentleyville is building what will become the only steel fabricated Christmas tree in the United States standing over 120 feet tall. And rolls of LED lights will be wrapped around the tree as crews finished each section. The 50,000 LED lights are expected to use 37 amps of power. It’s said that over 200,000 people attended the Bentleyville Tour of Lights in 2009, and this year, crews are expecting the tree will draw an even bigger turnout.

Benicia Acquired $146,000 from DOE for LED Street Lights Replacement

Benicia has acquired $146,000 from the U.S. Department of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program to retrofit 160 streetlights with LED and induction technology fixtures. The new lights will be installed on First Street and Military West between First and West 13th streets. The project is expected to be completed in 2011 spring, following a bidding process to award a construction contract.

Reportly, the PEPSI REFRESH PROJECT has chose LED Light Energy of Chicago as a candidate for one of its $250,000 REFRESH awards. The LED Light Energy project will relamp the Chicago Navy Pier, the largest tourist attraction in the mid-west with LEDs. Amtran posts financial reports for October

Taiwan LCD TV maker Amtran Technology October revenues were NT$6.12 billion (US$202.65 million), up 10.7% sequentially and 13.4% on year. The whole revenues in the first ten months of 2010 totaled NT$49.01 billion, down 5.28%. Its consolidated revenues for October go to NT$7.2 billion, up 14.44%. The whole revenues in the first ten months of 2010 totaled NT$57.77 billion, up 8.74%.
